Let Get Lunch With Onion Soup!

Baby-” It's cold outside”.... Let’s make soup!

Onion Soup is a great way to eat onions without crying ;)

I found this recipe in my old recipe book that I have in my kitchen, but with my new way of life, I had to change the spices from the original recipe to better, healthier ones!! No Processed food, No GMO in my soup, No soup powders whatsoever....

Are you ready for it? Here we go

Ingredients:

3 Tbsp Olive Oil

5 Big Onions- cut into strips

3 Garlic Cloves

1 Tsp Salt

2 Tbsp Oat / Almond flour

6-7 Cup of water

6 Tsp Organic Tamari

2 Tbsp Dijon Mustard

2 Tbsp Date syrup / Maple.

Preparation:

  1. Pour the olive oil into a big soup pot, and add the onion, salt and garlic. Mix it for about 40 min or until it browns and is a little caramelized. .

  2. Add the oat flour, date syrup and let steam for 10 min.

  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and wait until the water boils. Cover the pot and cook the soup for 30 min. The onions should be soft and have the caramel color.

  4. Remove the pot from the heat and now it is your choice to blend with the mixer until it is smooth and thick or to leave it as is. I like to see the onion.

Now, all the fun in eating soup is the toppings, of course!!!

You can choose to add my special blended spices: Shukey- “Balkan Fragrance”, Shukey- “Egypt Doua”, melted cheese, roasted almonds or homemade croutons.

It is delicious!
